As we continue to grow here at audioadpro, we wanted to take a moment to introduce the brilliant team who keep everything running day to day. From delivering high-performing campaigns to building strong relationships with our agency partners, there’s a huge range of roles – and personalities – that make aap what it is.
So, let’s introduce you to… Katie Hopkins, Marketing and Communications Officer at audioadpro, who joined us in March 2025. Since joining the team, Katie has helped shape what aap’s brand looks (and sounds) like today, from our industry insights to our website content.
We sat down with Katie to chat about her journey into digital audio, what inspires her most about the industry, and one takeaway from her time at aap so far.
Over to you, Katie…
How did your journey lead you into digital audio advertising?
After studying fashion for five years, I decided to pivot and found myself working in technical PR, then across a range of marketing roles. Alongside, I built expertise in property, music, retail and wellness, freelancing for multiple clients.
Joining audioadpro felt like the perfect next step – I jumped at the chance to work alongside Rog and Michael, having followed aap’s journey closely and admired what they’d been building. My background has always been rooted in brand marketing, community building and design, so moving into digital audio gave me a whole new industry to get my teeth into.
What makes digital audio such an exciting channel for brands right now?
The scale, technical capabilities, and precision of digital audio advertising – especially at audioadpro – make it an incredibly exciting time for brands to invest. It’s no longer just about reaching audiences; it’s about delivering truly accountable audio with consolidated measurement and attribution. Recent industry research is giving digital audio the airtime it deserves, and I’m proud to work for a business that’s helping lead that conversation.
What’s been your favourite campaign to work on – and why?
I’m usually involved in campaigns once they’re complete, creating case studies that showcase the results and success stories for advertisers. I love bringing those stories to life and demonstrating the impact our campaigns have had.
That said, whenever I have the opportunity to get involved in campaign planning, – whether that’s polishing a deck or lending a hand with audience illustration or creative assets – I’m always keen to jump in. A recent campaign in Germany for a QSR was a real win, illustrating the data and footfall uplift is up there with the most memorable.
What are you listening to at the moment?
Most days, I’m in charge of the shared office speaker, and at the moment I’ve been popping on my Spotify ‘Good Energy’ playlist, so there’s a mix of Loyle Carner, Olivia Dean, Jungle, Fontaines D.C. and Fred again… at least until Michael (our co-founder) takes over the Sonos and puts Billy Ocean on!
Podcast-wise, it’s always Shagged. Married. Annoyed. for me. Chris and Rosie Ramsey are hilarious, and it’s become a Friday tradition.
What’s one takeaway from your time at audioadpro so far?
One highlight has to be launching HARK, the digital audio advertising collective from audioadpro. Organising our first event, HARK Live in Manchester, was a real milestone for me. From sourcing the venue and managing logistics, it gave me the opportunity to work across so many different aspects of event planning.
Seeing so many talented people from across the digital audio industry come together made all the hard work worthwhile. It’s definitely been a standout moment in my career at audioadpro so far.
